The New Rules of Midlife | I Am Florida
The New Rules of Midlife — St. Petersburg — 15th St Farm, 342 15th St N, St. Petersburg, FL — 2026-10-18 — Your body changes in midlife, and what worked in your 20s and 30s may not work the same way anymore. Changes in hormones, metabolism, muscle, sleep, stress tolerance, and recovery can affect everything from your energy and body composition to how you feel day to day. In this three-part series, you’ll learn what’s actually changing, why it matters, and how to work with your body now. We’ll break down the new rules of nutrition and metabolism, stress and recovery, and muscle and movement into practical strategies you can use to feel stronger, healthier, and more confident through midlife and beyond. Midlife isn’t about doing more. It’s about understanding what’s changed and doing what matters now. The series will be led by Jillian Warwick, Functional Medicine Practitioner and Certified Midlife Specialist with more than 10 years of clinical experience. Jillian works with women navigating the health changes that come with midlife, helping them better understand their bodies and cut through the overwhelming and often conflicting advice about what they “should” be doing. Her approach is practical and personalized, with a focus on helping women understand what actually matters for their health in this stage of life. Part 1: The New Rules of Nutrition & Metabolism (Oct 18th) Why metabolism changes in midlife, what actually matters with food, protein, blood sugar and body composition, and why eating less isn’t necessarily the answer. Part 2: The New Rules of Stress, Sleep & Recovery (Date TBD) Why your body may not tolerate stress, poor sleep, overdoing it and under-recovering the way it once did, and how stress physiology intersects with hormones, metabolism, energy and health. Part 3: The New Rules of Muscle, Movement & Strength (Date TBD) Why muscle becomes increasingly important in midlife and what resistance training, walking and everyday movement can do for metabolic health, insulin sensitivity, bone health, strength and independence as we age.
